24. april 2009 / PATRIK ELIAS GETS ASSIST ON WINNER IN GAME FIVE

Patrik Elias sailed a cross-ice pass over to defenseman Andy Greene who blasted a shot towards goal halfway through the second period of Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Quarter Finals with the Carolina Hurricanes. Forward David Clarkson tipped the puck through Cam Ward to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. The goal was all the team needed as a stellar shutout performance by goaltender Martin Brodeur brought the team one win closer to the second round of the 2009 playoffs. Patrik spoke about the Prudential Center fans, playoff beards and what it will take to succeed in Game 6 on Sunday.
