2. july 2009 / PATRIK ELIAS IN THE MSG+ SPOTLIGHT THIS SUMMER
MSG+ has announced it will be honoring Patrik Elias’s all-time Devil point record by airing a 7-part mini series called “Patrik Elias: Rewriting Devils History” beginning on July 2 at 8:00 p.m. ET., and running through August 13.
Each show will highlight a memorable game in Patrik’s career starting with his unforgettable series winning goal in Game 7 of the 2000 Eastern Conference Finals against the Flyers and finishing with his record breaking performance against the Chicago Blackhawks, where he grabbed point number 702 to become the all-time leading scorer in Devils history.
Other episodes include Patrik’s first time winning the Stanley Cup (July 9), a 5-point night against San Jose in October 2001 (July 16), a 4-goal game in a battle with the Islanders (July 23), a 6-point performance in a heated rival match against the Rangers (July 30), and a December night in 2008 where Patrik’s game winning overtime goal against the Flyers tied him with Mats Sundin and Jaromir Jagr for most all-time overtime goals in the NHL with 15 (August 6).
Steve Cangialosi and former Devil Ken Daneyko will host each installment. Check local listings to find MSG+. (Dan Altano)
